Blockout Blinds
We align technical insight with disciplined execution to provide measurable gains across operational, financial, and strategic domains.
Darkness Where You Need It.
A blockout roller blind stops light through the fabric completely. How dark the room actually gets comes down to the edges — and that’s where the fit does the work
What a blockout blind does for the room.
Hover or tap a number to see where it is on the window.
- 1Total darkness
Coated blockout fabric stops light through the blind. Add side channels to close the gap at each edge.
- 2Better sleep
Keeps early summer sunrises and street lights out of bedrooms, and lets nurseries nap during the day.
- 3Privacy
Nobody sees in, day or night, with the lights on or off.
- 4Help with insulation
The coated backing helps hold heat in winter and keep it out in summer, most of all on west-facing rooms.
- 5Media rooms
No glare on the TV or projector screen, even on a sunny afternoon.
How dark does the room need to be?
Blockout describes the fabric, not the result. A recess-fitted blind still leaves light around the sides and top.
Think in levels. Level 1 is a recess fit - it darkens a room. Level 2 adds face fit, reverse roll and a cassette, which suits most bedrooms. Level 3 adds side channels, as close to blackout as a roller blind gets.
-
Level 2
Face fit, reverse roll and a cassette. Level 3 if either of you sleeps in daylight.
-
Level 3
Daytime naps are the hardest test. Cordless or motorised near a cot.
-
Level 3
Any edge light shows on a screen.
-
Level 1–2
Enough for occasional overnight use.
-
Level 1
Privacy is the job. Use a moisture-suitable fabric.
-
Consider double blinds.
Blockout alone means choosing between full light and full dark.
