Blockout blinds
- 1Darkness
Coated fabric stops light through the blind. Side channels close the gap at each edge for full dark.
- 2Side channels
Aluminium channels either side, so no light leaks past the edge. The nursery and media-room fit.
- 3Pelmet or recess
A pelmet or a tight recess fit closes the gap at the top where light spills in.
- 4Chain or motor
Chain control fitted to the Australian cord-safety standard, or a battery motor with no cords at all.
- 5Insulation
The coated backing helps hold heat in winter and out in summer, most of all on west-facing bedrooms.
Sunscreen blinds
- 1The view stays
An open weave: you see out by day, passers-by see a shape at most.
- 2Glare
Cuts glare on screens, benchtops and floors without turning the room dark.
- 3Heat
Reflects a share of the sun before it reaches the glass, so the room stays cooler.
- 4Fade protection
Cuts the UV that fades floors and furniture. Wording to match the fabric spec.
- 5Pair it
Sunscreen by day, blockout at night on a double roller. Lights on at night means people can see in through sunscreen alone.
Motorised options available on the entire range.
Remote, app, voice or a schedule. Battery or hardwired, on Luna.

-
It depends on the size of the window, the fabric, whether it is single or double, and the control type.
A measured, installed blind sits above an online DIY blind, and the difference is the measure, the fit, the components and someone being accountable if it is not right.
-
Typically 1 to 2 weeks from your free measure to installation.

They cut a meaningful amount of radiant heat and glare, which makes a room noticeably more comfortable. But as they sit inside the window, they do not stop heat conducting through the glass.
-
Recess fit sits inside the window reveal for a neat, contained look. Face fit mounts over the frame and covers the edges, which controls light much better.
Which one suits depends on the window depth, the handles and how much light control you need.
-
Standard roll drops the fabric away from the glass; reverse roll drops it against the glass. Reverse roll closes the light gap at the sides and clears window handles. It also exposes the roll rather than hiding it, so a fascia or cassette usually goes with it.
-
Yes, with a fabric suited to moisture.
Standard fabrics can mark or warp in a consistently wet room, so this is worth specifying rather than assuming.
-
Blinds suit smaller windows, wet areas, awkward shapes and rooms where floor space matters.
Curtains insulate better, soften a room and give better darkness. Most homes use both, in different rooms.
-
Corded internal window coverings are covered by a mandatory Australian safety standard, and must be installed with the cord or chain tensioned and secured.
Cordless and motorised options remove the risk entirely and are what we recommend near a cot or child’s bed.
